3D printing of resin components
Meccanica Tecnica is specialized in 3D printing services using the most proven technologies and methodologies. Among these you can find SLA, also known as stereolithography. This is the first rapid prototyping technique to appear on the market and it is based on the polymerization of liquid resin, a material composed of epoxy polymers, using a laser that creates three-dimensional models, layer upon layer.
Thanks to the presence of advanced machinery, we are able to produce components with complex geometries, which are distinguished by the high level of finish and absolute attention to detail.

The realization phase
The phases that make up the process of stereolithography consist of a careful study of customer requirements, then we use sophisticated CAD/CAM software and export a 3D printable file. After that the SLA printer outlines the print settings and slices the model into layers. Once these parameters are verified, we can proceed to the actual print.
Once printed, the parts are washed in isopropyl alcohol to remove traces of uncured resin from the surface. At this point it is necessary to smooth the marks made from supports and, if necessary, the part is assembled for more specific applications.
The Ideal Applications of Resin 3D Printing
Stereolithography is a widely used technology in the production of highly detailed parts, models for dimensional inspection, aesthetic and transparent prototypes. In fact, it enables the production of parts with near perfect transparency.
SLA printing is the reference standard when you want to obtain a smooth surface, with an appearance comparable to parts produced by extrusion or injection molding.
