State-of-the-art technical department<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The technical department at Meccanica Tecnica<\/strong> has sophisticated softwares able to create designs and cad models from scratch. Alternatively, we can import a large number of different formats such as IGES, DXF, STEP, STL and many other proprietary formats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

CAM<\/strong>, or “computer-aided manufacturing”, is used to program and guide the operations of robotic machines and generate tool paths to reproduce the CAD model<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The software we use is part of the Autodesk package<\/strong>, the world’s leading provider of 3D software<\/strong> for design, engineering and entertainment. Specifically, we use PowerShape<\/strong> and PowerMill<\/strong> programs.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the latest technologies we are able to produce parts and industrial products according to the customer’s design.<\/p>\n

The CAD\/CAM software systems revolution<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The CAD system<\/strong> was developed in the early 70s<\/strong> by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and with the advance of Internet, the simplification of computer use due to the spread of graphical user interfaces<\/strong> and the significant reduction in hardware costs has become a fundamental tool used by all professionals in the industry for the design<\/strong> and visualization<\/strong> of a product. It is currently heavily used in mechanical design and drafting.<\/p>\n
